@Colin – that is quite a story. You two are of my generation and I hope that Obama becomes the 2.0 or new and improved version of the idealism we had in the 70s.

As the Canadian husband of an American wife I’m thrilled that my wife is proud to be an American after nearly 40 yrs in Canada. She moved here in 1971 as a protest to the Vietnam War. I know that she is not alone in this new found pride. I work with several Expat Americans and the sentiment is the same. A great relief not having to hide the fact that you are a proud Yank.
